The deep breath before the plunge

Today is the day before the firing, and so there is much to be done of course. Not necessarily for the firing, but still much to be done. As the week has commenced I have steadily been getting up earlier and earlier. I want to actually get some sleep the night before my 1st shift and there is no way that would happen if I kept getting up and going to bed at my usual times.

Currently this is giving me more time in the morning and I have been using it to complete patent work. Today I will be editing my new animation for a bit. After that I have my usual Wednesday stuff to do and then I am off to the loading. Won't be at Adelphi Too late though, Since I have to get up around 4:30 am tomorrow.

Doing stuff

Finished the patent job, which is good, cause I need to be freed up for the up coming firing.

For those I haven't told this will be my schedule over the following days:

Thursday firing 6am to noon, then working at NCC from 6 pm to 11 pm

Friday working from 2 to 7, then going back for dance class, and firing from midnight to 6 am Saturday

Saturday I am firing from 6pm till midnight

Sunday work at the gym till 4 then go back to the firing for the end

So it will be a busy couple of days.

I have the typical stuff to do today, nothing amazing, going to try and bring some work back to Adelphi to anchor it in concrete for an upcoming out door show.

an uneventful weekend

Nothing good nor bad happened this weekend, I covered for a prof at NCC. Saturday worked outside with my dad. Sunday I went to work.

I have been working on some patent work yesterday and today. Also while at work I did some more work on an illustration. I will be composing the animation shortly on it.

What's really been weighing on my mind, in a good way, is the upcoming firing. I am looking forward to it, immensely.

The week ahead will be busy, and i am looking forward to it.

Last Couple of days

I have been pretty busy the last couple of days. Tuesday night I covered at Nassua. Wednesday did my usual amount of work.

Wednesday night I got a call to Cover at NCC again on Thursday at 7:15 to 3:30. So that is where I was yesterday. Then I popped over to Adelphi to discuss and upcoming show with An Ti. I came home tried to relax for a bit, then cooked dinner, went to dance class and saw a movie.

Today I am back at NCC to do another cover. Also I have patent work to work on, which is a small job but none the less, I need to get started on.

That is the fascinating thins about life, it goes 0 to 60 in 2 seconds.

NCC Tonight

If you check I posted a bunch of articles the other day to Helium. Didn't get a chance to work on any patent or personal work. Something about typing that just makes it a time vortex, you sit down and before you know it your day is gone.

Tonight I'll be working at NCC. Should be a better shift since there actually is a class their tonight. Hopefully I will be able to get some other tings done as well.

A pretty good weekend

I spent most of saturday helping out m y dad. We were working on fixing a trelace the spans the back deck. The weight of the vines growing on it was dragging it down.

Later that night I went out to eat with some old friends from high school. I haven't seen these guys in about 8 years. It was nice to catch up.

Sunday I worked as usual, did some writing and some typing. I will be putting up some new articles by the end of the day.

My plans for the day are pretty simple. I have more typing I want to finish. I would like to complete the inking phase of the illustration I am working on. Also I got some patent work in and I want to get to that as well.

Unexpectedly Busy

I was woken up at 8am today by a text asking if I could come down and cover a shift. Since I always need money I said sure. On the way there I will have to remeber to pick up new patent work as well.

While working I will also be doing some writing, researching and general other work.

I was able to work more on my illustration. I like how it is isturning out.

When I get back home it will be time to review some booze, and then go dancing.

Tomorrow I will be helping my Dad most of the day and probably typing up everything I have written this week.

Yesterday was a long day

I got up nice and early yesterday and accompanied my mom to the hospital. She had some routine tests done that came up fine, but she was under anesthisia so she couldn't drive home. While waiting I got some breakfast and did a little personal writing. We got home around 11 and I tried to catch a power nap, which backfired cause all it did was make me feel more tired.

Anyway around 1 I headed out to do some errands and writing. Also I figured out what I wanted to cook for dinner.

I tried to do something after dinner but I was shot and went too bed early.

Tuesday night at Adelphi went well. I put a bust into the kiln to be fired. It should be ready for the wood firing. I also got my schedule: April 30th 6am to Noon, May 1st Midnight to 6am, May 2nd 6pm to Midnight.

Also I will be working at NCC: April 30th 6pm to 11pm and May 1st 2pm to 7pm. So those will be long days.

Making progress on the new illustration project. Those that saw me workig the other night had nice things to say abiout what they saw thus far. I hope to get more done on it today.

So I got a new idea

I worked at NCC last night, not to my surprise I spent a good portion of the evening alone. I do find it odd now that it is coming to the end of the semester that more students are not taking advantage of all the free studio time. Perhaps it is because it was the 1st day back from vacation, or maybe it is because it was a Monday night. Either way I've never seen any studio that barren so late into a semester.

While there though I made good use of my time. I wrote 2 new articles,. which I will be typing up and submitting shortly. Also I read up on monetizing my wordpress blog. Finally I did a little sketching and some brainstorming. By the end of the night I had a great idea for a piece, which i began working on when I got home.

Today I have a couple of errands to perform and I am going to Adelphi later as well. My hope is that today will be very productive.

Easter Weekend

It was a good weekend. Friday I did a lot of baking, Saturday I was finally able to go through the list of moneymaking websites I have. Some look interesting others not so much.

Easter sunday I ate a lot and played Wii with my nephews, and they decisevely handed me my ass. The desserts went over well. you can read about it on the food blog: http://journeythroughfood.wordpress.com.

Today's plans are simple I have my usual internet rounds to make and then I am working at NCC tonight. I'll be there from 5 to 11.

As always the hope will be that I get some of my other work done while there. We shall see how that goes. There are plenty of things for me to write and I have ideas to illustrate, so I have no excuse not to keep myself busy tonight.

Baking today

There are several plans for me today.

I will be baking some desserts today for Easter with a little luck I will get the Olive Oil and Rosemarry cake as well as the brownies.

I am starting some reference searches for an illustration I want to make.

I will be researching a bunch of websites I found out about.

Also I have to submit my booze review this week.

It shall be a busy day.

goals met and have yet to be met

Ok, so I still haven't had a chance to make any new work, but I have been able to get a couple of other things done.

I went through all the articles and tips I printed out on Tuesday, found a lot of good information that I will be putting to some good use.

I did some brainstorming and now I have ideas that I actually want to illustrate.

Finalized what I will be bringing to my cousins for Easter, which you will be bale to read about Sunday on journey through food.

I got paid by $27 from helium and the articles I have written, not a lot I know but it is definite motivation to keep writing and work harder at it.

Installed tweetdeck, a fantastic app, which helps out immensely with twitter and thus web business.

Made a clay bust the other night which I will be finishing up today and will have ready for the firing at the end of the month.

Talked to a former prof of mine and got some encouraging words and advice which is always cool.

As far as today the breakdown is as follows: finish internet stuff, finish bust at adelphi, cook dinner, go to dance class, try to get some other work done.

Did a lot of stuff yesterday

Unfortunately, drawing was not one of them. I was able to review leads, send out emails, research names and companies, print out a bunch of reading material on online business, rate helium articles, type up helium articles, write yesterday's blog, enter in new email contacts, cook dinner, go to tango class and do my general self promotion, but not draw.

The problem was when everything else was done, i blanked on what I would want to create. Today I have a solution to that problem. A couple of weeks ago I did some brainstorming on t-shirt ideas for 2 websites, threadless and modern tee. I have neglected these sites for a month of so and i think it is time that I get back on track with them. They should be a good place to get inspiration, or rather motivation to have inspiration.

Other pans for the day are to update my site, rate some articles, try to write 2 articles, do some drawing (or at least brainstorming), go to the post office and mail out my taxes, go to the bank and deposit a check, go to adelphi and try to make some ceramic work for the up coming firing.

April Showers indeed

I guess yesterday was the one bright spot we will be having for awhile. I don't know about everyuone else but this rain is really bringing me down. I could use some actual brightness for a change.

Anyway it seems to me that as of late I have spent more time writing and less time making art. Though i have no particular problem with that, I am going to focus again on trying to make more drawings, sketches, illustrations what have you. Today I am spending time retooling my daily task sheet, emailing the comic book conctacts I've made, composing letter to comic book editors, checking out more names and companies from the Aritist's market book and by hook or by crook I will be doing some drawing later.

Getting called a lot

I woke up this moring to a phone call from the Prof/T.A. I covered for last night. Overall it was a good shift in the studio. Students actually showed up and made some work, which always maked things easier. I was also able to get some work done and did a little bit of writing. Unfortunetly, I forgot to put a cone into a kiln, which is dumb of me. My mind has been pre-occupied recently and I just wasn't focused. On the up side though he needs me to cover again at the end of the month, so that is good.

I also got a text immediately after the phone call, and I will covering at the gym a little late this afternoon. Apparently I am in high demand these days. This will give me an oppurtunity to get more writing done, which is always a plus.

Tomorrow I may be splitting wood for an upcoming firing depending on the weather.

Subbing

I think I am finally getting over my malaise and feeling productive again. I've typed up and submitted a couple of articles and aI can feel ideas coming back inot my brain. This is good because tonight I am subbing for a Prof/T.A. at NCC. This will give me plenty of time to focus and brainstorm.

On the upside some money has come in which is always nice. I have a check to deposit today and some money also came in yesterday from writing, not a lot but it is a good motivator.

Due to the complete lack of professional work I did yesterday, today will be devoted to all that reviewing and planning I said I would do yesterday. Also I am going to try and get some writing done today as well. I bhave several Helium titles that I want to write about as well as personal topics and other things.

This is what reorganizing looks like, at least for me, completely un-organized.
